How Can You Be Positive When Negativity is Everywhere?

It is hard to stay positive when faced with difficulties. In addition to that we may be prone to negative thinking because of our emotions & experiences in life. However, a negative attitude can cause all sorts of problems within ourselves and with others.

 To have a fulfilling life we really must work at maintaining a positive viewpoint – especially when life gets us down. Many scriptures in the Bible have helped us to cope & maintain positive thinking. Proverbs 24:16

Hebrews 13:5 & 6

You don’t have to be perfect, in control, super smart, good all the time, be a martyr, suffer, or earn happiness. You have the right to happiness.

 Be grateful & mindful throughout each & everyday

Don’t take yourself too seriously. Make fun of your flaws in a witty, humble way.

 Don’t plan ahead for happiness as if it’s something you strive after.  Some people chase happiness & some people choose it.

Don’t waste precious time with friends by talking about problems.

 Identify successes in love, friendship & in personal achievement.

Stop being afraid of happiness.

Say goodbye to the fear that “if I become happy I will become selfish or that others will envy me.” Say goodbye to that nagging question – “Do I really deserve to be happy?”    Turn off the negativity of past judgments, perceptions, expectations & anticipations. They have no place in a happy mind.

Accept yourself. Believe that it’s just fine to be who you are. If you don’t accept yourself you will be tempted to compare yourself with others.
